Thank you for joining us in Atlantic City!
It is with much gratitude and respect that we honor Isabel Halpin Jarman with the DTC Legacy Award. Isabel is an inspiration to the type one diabetes community and proves daily that “anything is possible” despite T1D.
Isabel was diagnosed 45 years ago when she was a teenager. To this day she lives fully – completing many 1⁄2 marathons, triathlons and other active and challenging events. Just this past May, she hiked the ‘Rim to Rim’, a 24-mile hike straight down and then straight up the Grand Canyon in one day!
For the past 10 years Isabel has been an amazing advocate, supporter and trailblazer for Diabetes Training Camp. She has attended three DTC in-person camps, spearheaded our first Come Experience the Magic fundraiser, served on the DTC Foundation Board of Directors and is a top donor for the past 10 years.
It is with great pride and love that we honor Isabel at this year’s Come
Experience the Magic benefit and fundraiser!
The DTC Warrior Award is presented to an individual within our own community who lives and thrives with diabetes, and does not let this chronic condition stand in their way. The DTC warrior embodies the characteristics of all members of the DTC community and family—resilience and toughness, and a tenacity to not let diabetes hold them back. The recipient of the DTC Warrior Award also demonstrates a commitment and dedication to contributing to a greater good in their own professional and personal life. The DTC Warrior selflessly makes a positive difference in the world, and in the lives of all of those they touch.
Vince Borrelli, married to Julann and father to Vince Jr., Nick, and Gianna, has built a successful career in the steel construction industry. Starting as a draftsman in 1979, he eventually founded his own company in 1992, expanding it to include steel fabrication and pre-engineered metal buildings. Vince is committed to giving back to his community, having been a member of the Winslow Lions Club since 1985, where he’s helped with eye exams, veterans’ events, and holiday gifts for families in need. He is also passionate about supporting Diabetes Training Camp, an initiative close to his heart. He was instrumental in securing a large grant from Lions Club International this past summer that allowed DTC to provide full scholarships to several local T1Ds.
The Distinguished Service Award is awarded to an individual who has a positive and lasting impact on the organization, its community, and its success. It’s a special honor reserved for a person who leaves a legacy of service that has propelled the growth of DTC and its community to thrive.
For almost 10 years, Sharon Levin has given her time and her talents to Diabetes Training Camp! She was a camper and then a volunteer, and as DTC grew with her help, she became one of DTC’s first staff members. Sharon is compassionate, intelligent, reliable, and a true leader. She welcomed new and returning campers to each camp, making them feel comfortable, heard, and safe. Sharon selflessly prioritized DTC and its community for every in-person camp, virtual camp, fundraiser, and special programs.
Sharon was instrumental in helping DTC weather the impact of COVID. During a time when over 30% of small businesses and non-profits shut their doors, DTC successfully pivoted and grew their community with virtual programming. We would not be where we are today without Sharon. We are very grateful for her passion and service to DTC.
The DTC Volunteer of the Year award goes to a person who goes above and beyond to help grow Diabetes Training Camp either through raising awareness, volunteering for DTC programs and services, or fundraising. Diabetes Training Camp becomes a stronger and better community due to the dedication and efforts of the DTC Volunteer of the Year. Andi Sinderbrand has been actively volunteering for Diabetes Training Camp for the past ten years.
Andi is the look and feel behind DTC. She is our creative genius and produces DTC videos, social media posts, marketing collateral, and has helped lead the annual Come Experience the Magic benefit committee to success for the past 7 years. She has been to numerous camps, interacting with DTC campers and telling their stories in a compassionate and thoughtful way while also showcasing the magic of Diabetes Training Camp. Her love for DTC is palpable and our appreciation for her passion, spirit, and leadership is immeasurable.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and/or donated to last year’s event. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Thank you for considering a contribution to Diabetes Training Camp. DTC Foundation was established in 2015 with a mission to inspire, motivate and educate by delivering unique and customized programs and coaching that empower the community of people living with diabetes to thrive.
Since creating DTC Foundation we have been able to offer $400,000 in camp subsidies and scholarships for life-changing programs and services.
In just 6 years, through our wonderful donors’ contributions, we have surpassed $600,000 in fundraising from the annual November COME EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC benefit. All of these funds have been used for scholarships to get more diabetes warriors to camp and to create new and unique services to help them thrive.
Your contribution will help us as we continue to map out our plan and establish Diabetes Training Camp as the non-profit leader and innovator within the diabetes community, continuing to change lives.
