Diabetes Training Camp is a 501c3 non-profit that operates at cost each year, primarily through volunteer efforts of an incredibly talented team of experts who are committed to delivering a transformative camp experience for active people living with diabetes. . Our model is straightforward – there is a registration fee for camp that includes all programming, meals, and lodging that is set based on expenses and costs to run camp. DTC offers a generous scholarship fund open to all prospective campers that may need financial assistance to attend camp.
From its inception in 2006, Diabetes Training Camp has been committed to helping people join this amazing community and get to camp. While we work very hard throughout the year to put together amazing camp experiences, we work equally as hard to raise funds for our scholarship program! In fact, each year, more than 40% of registration fees for DTC camps and programs are funded directly through the DTC Scholarship Program. Since 2016, DTC has offered over $500,000 in scholarship dollars to help exercisers and athletes of all levels living with diabetes come to Camp! We are extremely grateful for our supporters who help make this scholarship program a reality.
We are committed to offering the premier diabetes camp that is unique, transformative, and ACCESSIBLE to anyone who wants to join us.
For 2025, camp prices will remain the same for the third year in a row. Adult camp registration fees are $2,375 per person, and our Teen Boot Camp fee is $2,750 for the first parent & teen.

Adult camps maintain a near 1:1 ratio of staff to participants, never exceeding 2:1, ensuring you receive personalized attention throughout your stay.
Our Teen Boot Camps maintain similar intensive support from experts nationwide, with approximately one dedicated team member per family. Our TBC team joins forces from Boston Childrens Hospital, Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia, Northwestern Medical Center, Marshall University, and the Barbara Davis Center at the University of Colorado to deliver the premier sports performance camp for teen athletes with type 1 diabetes and their parents.
This concentrated level of professional support in one location delivers unprecedented value. Nowhere else will you find this combination of dedicated individual attention and specialized expertise in both diabetes management and fitness and athletic training with diabetes. Each member of our staff brings a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by exercisers and athletes managing type 1 diabetes, ensuring you receive guidance that’s both comprehensive and precisely tailored to your needs.
When you join us at Diabetes Training Camp, you’re not just attending sessions – you’re immersing yourself in a comprehensive fitness and athletic training environment.
Our campers stay in carefully selected hotels and dormitory facilities adjacent to elite athletic and fitness venues, ensuring convenient access to world-class training facilities.
Nutrition is a cornerstone of athletic performance and diabetes management. That’s why we’ve partnered with premier catering teams that regularly serve Olympic athletes and collegiate sports programs. These experienced culinary professionals work from customized meal plans specifically designed to support our campers’ unique needs, combining precise nutritional requirements with exceptional quality.
Our accommodation and dining services represent a portion of the camp fee, reflecting our commitment to providing a complete, high-caliber training experience. Every aspect of your stay – from comfortable lodging to meticulously planned meals – is designed to help you focus entirely on your fitness, training, and diabetes management goals.
Your Diabetes Training Camp experience extends far beyond your time with us at camp. Upon completing camp, you gain lifetime access to our exclusive alumni community – a vibrant network of fellow exercisers and athletes who understand the unique intersection of diabetes management and athletic achievement. DTC camp alumni are invited to join us biweekly at our Virtual Community Hub where we meet throughout the year to Learn, Train & Connect together online.
Also, through our members-only Facebook group, you’ll maintain ongoing connections with both camp staff and fellow alumni; giving you continued access to our team’s expertise and the ability to share experiences, strategies, and successes with others who truly understand your journey. Whether you’re troubleshooting a training challenge or celebrating a breakthrough, your camp community remains just a post away.
Time and again, we hear from alumni that Diabetes Training Camp was the catalyst for transformative relationships. The bonds formed here – between exercisers and athletes who share similar challenges and victories – often develop into lifelong friendships. While the intensive training and education during camp are invaluable, many find that our community and these enduring connections become one of the most treasured returns on their investment.
While the investment in producing Diabetes Training Camp is substantial, we believe everyone living with diabetes deserves the chance to lead a full, healthy, and active life—regardless of financial barriers.
Our scholarship program, fueled by generous donors and annual fundraising events, is designed to make our programs accessible to all.
Both parents and their teens must complete their specific application to be considered for a scholarship. The link to both applications can be found below.
We recognize that your decision to attend camp might depend on financial aid. However, camps do fill up and we’d hate for you to miss out.
We suggest registering for camp ASAP and pay the $100 deposit. This will reserve your slot at camp. If you receive a scholarship, it will be applied to the balance owed.
Scholarship applications are reviewed beginning in early April. You will hear about your scholarship status by mid-April or beginning of May.
Please note: Campers who have received a scholarship from the Diabetes Training Camp cannot apply for a scholarship the following year. Individuals will not be awarded scholarships in consecutive years.
