COME EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC

Diabetes Training Camp’s 8th Annual  Benefit was our BIGGEST EVER!

Thank You to Our Sponsors & All Who Donated!

Thank you for making the magic happen!

Thank you to all who joined us at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City for a night of unforgettable energy, inspiration, and celebration—all in honor of two decades of magic.

Thanks to your generosity, this year’s event raised more than $390,000 – a record-breaking amount to celebrate DTC’s 20 years of camps.

As Diabetes Training Camp celebrated 20 years of life-changing impact, the event delivered an evening of great food, drinks, an incredible silent auction, and live music that kept everyone dancing. Whether guests had supported DTC for years or were joining the community for the first time, the night became a chance to show up, connect, and experience something truly special.

Thank you to everyone who made it unforgettable.

Where the Money Goes

Lizzy Blomgren
2024 DTC Scholarship Recipient

Your support matters. Diabetes Training Camp has provided subsidies and scholarships to campers, with nearly $1.4 million raised through the annual Come Experience the Magic benefit. Every dollar has fueled scholarships and services that change lives.

For Lizzy Blomgren, those dollars meant possibility. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 10, Lizzy had long dreamed of endurance running but feared the risks. With a DTC scholarship, she attended camp in 2024 and found what she needed: knowledge, confidence, and community.

“I am so grateful to Dr. Matt and the fundraising team,” she said. “My whole life is different because of the experience.” Surrounded by peers and coaches who “just get it,” Lizzy conquered fears, learned fueling strategies, and discovered the joy of pushing her limits safely.

As Lizzy explains, “Diabetes Training Camp changed the trajectory of everything I’m going to do moving forward.”

Your contribution ensures that more people like Lizzy gain the support and skills they need to thrive—with diabetes, and beyond.

2025 DTC Award Recipients

George & Patricia Siganos

DTC Legacy Award Recipients

It is with deep appreciation that we honor George and Patricia Siganos with this year’s DTC Legacy Award. George and Patricia exemplify what it means to lead with heart, giving back generously and always putting community first.

As the founders of Siganos Management, they’ve helped shape Atlantic City’s hospitality landscape, building beloved restaurants and creating jobs along the Boardwalk and in casino properties. But it’s their quiet, consistent support of healthcare, education, and cultural initiatives that makes them stand out as true civic leaders.

Their connection to tonight’s cause is personal. Their son, John, lives with type 1 diabetes, and through him, George and Patricia have seen firsthand how critical it is to support programs that empower individuals and families facing this disease. They believe in the mission of Diabetes Training Camp and are proud to support a place that combines education, fitness, and inspiration for people with diabetes.

It is with admiration and gratitude that we celebrate George and Patricia’s commitment to building a stronger, healthier community for all of us.

Brett DeNafo

DTC Warrior Award Recipient

The DTC Warrior Award is presented to an individual within our own community who lives and thrives with diabetes, and does not let this chronic condition stand in their way. The DTC warrior embodies the characteristics of all members of the DTC community and family—resilience and toughness, and a tenacity to not let diabetes hold them back. The recipient of the DTC Warrior Award also demonstrates a commitment and dedication to contributing to a greater good in their own professional and personal life. The DTC Warrior selflessly makes a positive difference in the world, and in the lives of all of those they touch.

Brett DeNafo is a Jersey Shore entrepreneur and community builder whose footprint spans hospitality and local cinema. He owns Stone Harbor Bar & Grill and is an owner‑partner of Town Square Entertainment (Square Theatres), the team behind the revitalized Harbor Square Theatre in Stone Harbor, Ventnor Square Theatre, Tilton Square Theater in Northfield, the Cape Square entertainment complex in Rio Grande, and the restored Moorlyn Theatre on the Ocean City Boardwalk.

He brings that same energy to diabetes advocacy. Brett’s theaters have hosted Diabetes Training Camp for a free community education event on Type 1 screening, and he has supported DTC as a named friend, sponsor, and convenor for local business‑leader briefings.

Town Square has also provided in‑theater promotional inventory for DTC’s fundraising program, putting the mission in front of families across the Square Theatres circuit.

Brett pairs hustle with heart, using the platforms he built as a passionate small businessman to help people with diabetes learn, connect, and thrive.
